What Type of Online Business Do You Want?

When I talk with people that want to make money online they usually say that they want to make it but are unsure how.

Before you begin to create your online empire, you need to know what it is that you want to do.  There are a lot of different ways to make money online but here are 4 main ways for you to choose from in the areas of niche marketing:

  1. The Adsense only model.  This is where you build websites with the intent of making money when people that arrive at your website click on Google ads for which you share in the revenue.
  2. The product owner model.  Here you will create your own digital products to sell.  They will be downloadable; such as an ebook or software.
  3. The digital affiliate model.  With this model you will promote other people’s digital products for an affiliate commission for every sale that is made through your affiliate link.  Usually this is done by creating a website that recommends a particular product or reviews many different products within the same niche.
  4. The physical affiliate model.  In this model you will do that same thing that you do as a digital affiliate but with physical affiliate products.  You can promote physical products through networks like Amazon and Commission Junction.

It’s important that you pick something that you are interested in and stick to it because you might not see instant success.  In fact, most people won’t make any money in the beginning.  The journey is different for everyone but if you realize that you are going to have to pay your dues, you will probably see some success and that will give you the drive to get to where you want to be.

The number 1 thing that I see with people that end up quitting is that they don’t understand that making your first $1 online is more important than making your first $1,000 online.

Making your first $1 should break through your belief barrier that making money online is possible and now what you must do is scale your activities into a real business.  Focus on the system that made that $1 and the next thing you know you will be pulling down a phenomenal income online…

Online Business Diversification – The Key To Success!

If you run a business or work for yourself you probably know that it is not wise to put all of your eggs into one basket, especially when it comes to advertising.  In fact online business diversification is absolutely essential and the key to success.

A good example of how you would diversify online as it relates to advertising is to utilize different methods for driving traffic to your website.

The fastest but non-free way is to use Pay-Per-Click or PPC as it’s called for short.  You can see targeted traffic in as little as 15 minutes after you set up your campaign on a search engine like Google, Yahoo, Bing and many others.  The drawback to this is that you spend money every time someone clicks on your ad and there is no guarantee that the person will buy anything.

You can also choose to go the Search Engine Optimization route or SEO for short.  You can get targeted traffic but it takes much longer because there are so many things that must be done with SEO in order for you to show up in the organic/free search results.  But the great thing about this method is that all of the traffic that you get is 100% free!

Another method that has really taken the Internet by storm is social media.  All it is in my opinion is word of mouth advertising made a thousand times more powerful due to the unlimited reach of the Internet.  You can get a flood of traffic to your website this way but the key is to get the viral aspect going by way of good, fun, entertaining content.  The only drawback is that it has to be so engaging that people pass it around and a lot of the time information by itself just isn’t enough.  It is a true skill to master this as a method of advertising but it is done everyday.

The moral of this post is to make sure that you are doing at least two of the three and never just one.  Search engines change their algorithms all of the time and they change the rules for PPC quite a bit too.  A social site that is hot today can very well be gone tomorrow.

So remember that diversification online is the true key to your business success.
