The World of Internet Marketing

Internet Marketing

A Sports Quote for Internet Marketing?

This is a sports quote that I heard the other day that I feel really relates to Internet Marketing.

“Hard work beats talent when talent fails to work hard.”

Now I’ll admit that I don’t even know who said that but it sure relates to Internet Marketing and life in general.

The way I see it, there are a lot of really talented people out there in the Internet Marketing game but they don’t succeed because they want things to just fall into their laps.

You see, you can be the best copywriter, graphic artist, programmer, website designer, article writer, PPC or SEO expert, etc, but if you think that means that you don’t have to work hard you have another thing coming!

In the beginning you must really put in the work in order to make it in the Internet Marketing game.  That is why you have probably heard the stories about us sitting at our computers for 14 to 16 hours per day!  It sounds crazy but in many cases it is true.

So the next time that you want to get mad at that Guru for showing you their 6 and 7 figure screenshots that you don’t have yet, remember this post.  You can be the absolute best at what you do but if you don’t work hard even the not so bright guy that was willing to work harder than you will be living the lifestyle that you desire…

Can you think of a good quote that relates well to Internet Marketing?  If so, leave a comment or just tell me what your thoughts are on this post.

A Hundred Failures and Consequences?

Awhile ago I wrote a post entitled “Only 1 Failure Away From Success” and this post is a follow-up to that post.  The reason is because I received a private message from one of my readers about how that post really hit home for him.

A little bit of a back story on my reader is that he lost his job (I know, shocker right?) and got really discouraged that he couldn’t find another one or even two that would replace his income.  He really wanted to give up but he couldn’t because of a wife and three kids.

Things were really getting bad financially when he decided to try and make money online.  What little time that he had to work on his online business really put even more stress on his home life because his wife was really upset when she realized that he was using money marked for bills to market with.

Of course this made things much worse because his wife told him that she was going to leave with the kids if he didn’t get his act together.  His response was that marketing online is getting his act together for a much better future and that he was not going to fail.

Well months went by and still no success.  He was still not willing to give up!  Unfortunately his wife wasn’t bluffing and left him about a month later.  Though he was devastated, he still wasn’t ready to give up.  This guy has determination beyond your average person because he finally had success about four months after his wife left him and took their kids.

Fast forward to now and he is single with a new girlfriend.  He took his kids to Disney World for the first time because he now makes more than double what he made on his highest paying J.O.B. (Just Over Broke).

He said that he failed more times than he can remember but he felt that he couldn’t stop for all of the reasons that people wanted him to.  Their reasons were exactly why he pushed himself even harder.  The biggest thing that family and friends kept saying was to get a job for security but in his mind that meant that he needed to control his own destiny because an employer can let you go at any time…

My opinion on this is that ultimately you must follow your own heart because only you can make you happy.  I say fail but fail responsibly.  But one thing is for sure, you will never know until you give it every thing you’ve got and then try once more.

Be sure to tell me what you think in the comments.

Is Internet Marketing Right For You?

Are you trying to make a career in Internet marketing?  Are you having success or failure?  Most of the time people fail because of several reasons that I am going to touch on in this blog post.

One of the worst things that you can do when you are trying to learn to market online is to listen to too many different marketers.  This is where paralysis sets in.  You have so much information coming at you that you don’t know what to do and instead of picking one and working on it you do nothing.

Another thing is not focusing on one aspect of Internet marketing.  When you first get started you need to figure out what area of online marketing that you like and drill into it.  Most people just sway with whichever way the wind blows and that is just not going to get it done.  It’s best to pick a specialty just like a doctor, lawyer or any other professional.  There are tons of different ways to make money online.  You have to pick the way that best speaks to you for your best chance at success.

The last thing that I am going to talk about in this post is never seeing a project through to the end.  This is very common because we are too busy these days and have too many things to distract us.  No wonder A.D.D. is seemingly on the rise!

Success in anything is never guaranteed but you can greatly increase your chances for success in Internet marketing if you take note of the reasons that I have outlined here.

Is Internet marketing right for you?  Questions, comments or just a statement, they are all welcome in the comment box so leave one…

What Does Internet Marketing Mean To You?

I was thinking yesterday about what Internet Marketing means to me and decided to make it into today’s post.

Online marketing is all about lifestyle and freedom of choice.  What I mean is that you can live paycheck to paycheck on a 9 to 5 job and in most cases it will keep you just over broke.

On the other hand if you have it in you to strive for a better life you can seek an online income that will eclipse that of a regular job in a matter of months if you do it right.

What you have to remember is to never take your eyes off of the prize.  This type of marketing has the potential to completely change your life.  It can have you relaxing on a beach or hitting the slopes anywhere in the world that you want to go, all the while still making money on autopilot.

The Internet Marketing lifestyle is the Holy Grail way of making money.  The hardest thing is not to quit!  What often happens more times than not is that people give up or become unfocused and that is the kiss of death to what might have been an excellent career online.

I heard a speech by Brian Tracy where he talked about getting in line and staying in line.  That just simply means that just like a buffet line, if you get in line and stay in line, you will get to the front where the good stuff is.  That is just like life, if you get in line and stay in line, you will get the rewards that life has to offer.

The problem is that most people get out of line or constantly jump in and out of line and all that does is make you keep having to start over again.  So get your butt in line and stay in line because just like in the buffet analogy, the only person that is going to make you get out of line is you.

I hope this post helped you.  So let me know what you think in the form of a comment.

If I Could Hit the Redo Button on Internet Marketing…

In this post I am going to explore what I would do if I could start all over again but this time with the knowledge that I have now.  Right, I know what you’re thinking, “wouldn’t we all.”

Instead of trying to learn how to start marketing online through trial and error, I would immediately seek out a mentor.  With a mentor you get and encyclopedia of information right there for the asking.

You wouldn’t have to figure out what works and how to get it to work when you get stuck.  If you couldn’t figure something out after struggling with it, go to your mentor and chances are that he/she will know the answer or knows someone that does and can get that answer for you.

What this will do for you is eliminate the need to buy course after course trying to piece together the puzzle that is Internet Marketing.  Usually what happens to most people is that they get information overload.  Now this is a real time waster!  I can’t stress enough how much of your time and productivity that this will eat up.

You need to focus, focus, focus!  A mentor will help you with this because he/she has been there and done that.  When you begin to stray they will recognize it and help you get back on track.

Mentors will also help you find your strengths more quickly than you will on your own.  Sometimes we all believe that we know what we are best at but a lot of the time we don’t.

Lastly, it is my firm belief that you will find success much quicker with a mentor vs. trying to do it on your own.  Just think of it this way, if you bought tons of self taught courses they would probably end up costing you more than a mentor would in the long run.

Think about it…
