Easy App Creator

Apps are the next big thing!  They are here now and they are absolutely killing it.  It doesn’t matter if you are an Apple or Android user; you probably have a ton of them already.

A lot of people would really like to have their own app built but it can really cost you a bundle depending on what you are looking for.

When you think of apps most people think about something like Angry Birds, Fruit Ninja and other game oriented apps that get a lot of publicity.  The truth is that there are a lot of other types of apps out there than just games.

It is believed that one day apps will replace web browsers as the way that we will access the Internet and communicate online.  You are already seeing this now with all of the mobile apps that connect to social media platforms like Facebook and Twitter.

The problem is that most apps cost thousands of dollars to build because it takes hiring a programmer or a company to build them for you.  That is… It used to cost you thousands of dollars to create apps before but now there are some options for building certain types of them yourself for free or almost free.

I was on a webinar recently and they mentioned a great website that has an easy app creator.  It is called Buzz Touch pictured below.

BuzzTouch.com Picture

At BuzzTouch.com you can get started by creating a free account and creating a cool app that you or your clients can get a lot of use out of.

From what I can see your best bet is to create apps for offline clients, which is huge right now.  You can make them a great app for a brick and mortar store that will both bring in new clients and bring back old ones.

So check out Buzz Touch and be sure to return and let me know what you think about their easy app creator.

Make Money with Virtual Business Cards

I know that a lot of people by now have heard about mobile marketing if you are anywhere in the online business world, but have you heard about virtual business cards.

Virtual business cards are a great and interesting way to collect leads for your business.  It is so different and cutting edge that it really catches people’s attention.

Just imagine if you were at a business conference and people ask you for your business card.  All you would have to do is ask them if they have a cell phone, which everyone does.  Then you tell them to text the word “businesscard” to 77257 (this is not a real text short code – example only) and they will get your business card virtually.

Not only will the person be impressed that you don’t have to carry business cards, they will want to know how they can do the same!  Even better, you now have them on your mobile text list so that you can contact them via text messaging over and over again.

Any business professional will want to know how you set this up, and that’s when you tell them that you are in the business of creating mobile business cards for businesses and give them your rates.

A common amount to charge for this service is about $197 per month for up to 2,000 people on a text message list, and a one-time setup fee of $297.  Most people that I know that provide this service for businesses like restaurants and such will include 1 text message blast per week as a part of the monthly package plus about $20 for each additional unscheduled text blast.

When it comes to choosing a company that provides the SMS service, be sure not to use one that delivers the texts via SMTP.  The reason is that all of the major mobile phone carriers block these types of providers because the messages utilize an email platform to deliver the messages.  With email come spam and many other problems that the major carriers don’t want to deal with.

The best thing about this money maker is that you should be able to find companies that will only charge you less than a hundred dollars to provide this service per client and you then pocket the rest!  Not too shabby of a business model is it?

Local QR Code Marketing Strategy

This is a great way to make money offline with the new QR code technology for mobile devices.  If you don’t already know, QR stands for “quick response.”

Think of a QR code the same way that you view a clickable picture link that will lead you to somewhere else on that same mobile website or to an entirely different mobile website.

QR codes are a great way to drive foot traffic into local businesses.  You have probably noticed that people’s faces are now firmly planted into their mobile devices like some kind of zombie takeover.  This used to be socially unacceptable behavior, but now everyone does it.

Now let’s look at the bright side; this behavior can make entrepreneurs a lot of money!  All you have to do is demonstrate what a QR code can do for a business owner.

Take a look at the example QR code below:

QR Code Example

If you use your mobile device that has a QR code reader on it to view this code, you will be taken to a specific place on a mobile website.  That is amazing because this little code can be placed on store front windows, on menus, table tops, etc.

One of many ways to get a business owner to hire you to create QR codes for them is to go into an establishment and talk to the manager or owner.  Have a pre-printed QR code that goes to a coupon that offers a discount on a customer’s next visit.  Scan the code with your mobile device and show him/her what happens next and they’ll be blown away.

The code can even be to a video of the establishment with reviews and a coupon at the end telling the person to redeem the coupon by presenting their mobile device to the person that helps you.  This will blow the business owner away because someone can just be walking by a window and by just scanning the QR code, get a real sense of how great that establishment is before they even go in.

At this point the owner will want to write you a check, but it doesn’t stop there.  Use this as a gateway to even more cash!  Now that you have the business owner’s ear, you can offer more services once you bring in more business using this new technology.

There is no set amount that you can charge for this service.  You can charge as little as $50 per month all the way up to thousands per month depending on that business’s individual customer value.  Think of it this way, a florist customer spends far less than a customer of a cosmetic surgeon.  Therefore you should price accordingly.

So go out there and make a lot of money offering QR code services to local business owners and get your piece of the Internet pie today!

Mobile Marketing Trends

There are a lot of mobile marketing trends that are beginning to peak right now but probably the biggest one is in the local market.

There are 1.8 billion people on the Internet but a staggering 5 billion people that have mobile phones.  That is huge if you look at the fact that countless millionaires were made from the Internet.

When you compare the two, just look at how much larger the mobile phone market is than computers and know that the marketing aspect is just getting started for mobile.  Now you have all types of mobile devices popping up all over the place, which just makes the market even bigger.

Local mobile marketing is absolutely set to explode over the next couple of years as the next gold rush.  There are about 28 million small businesses in the United States alone and only about 1% of them are utilizing text message marketing.

With traditional email marketing open rates have fallen to around 10 to 20 percent if you are a really good marketer.  Text message marketing being in its infancy, it is getting around a 97% open rate!  That is truly incredible to know that when you send out a text message to your customers that almost all of them will see it.

You are now beginning to see a lot of mobile marketing products popping up all over the place because there is a ton of money to be made by online marketers working in conjunction with offline businesses.

I expect this trend to continue for some time to come since most business owners don’t yet understand the technology and would rather just pay someone else to do it.  Business owners want to work on the business that they are passionate about and are usually not interested on learning something new and outside of their comfort zone.

Leave a comment and let me know what you think about the current mobile marketing trends?

Mobile Commerce

I’m sure that you’ve been hearing a lot about mobile marketing lately but have you heard much about mobile commerce?

Mobile marketing comes in many forms from getting people to opt-in to your conventional email newsletter so that you can sell them something.  You could also get them to opt-in so that they can receive specials via text message.

Mobile commerce is the next logical step to mobile marketing and is already being done mostly by large companies like eBay and Amazon.  It is where you actually pay using your mobile phone or mobile device.

In 2009 eBay Mobile grossed a staggering 600 million dollars, but that was nothing.  In 2010 they expect that figure to grow to an estimated 1.5 billion dollars!  Sales for Cyber Monday this year increased 146 percent for eBay mobile commerce alone.

California, Nevada, Maryland, Pennsylvania and Florida are leading the way in mobile commerce.  I expect this figure to grow with the trust of consumers buying through their mobile devices.

There are about 5 times more people with mobile phones than there are people on the internet using computers.  The mobile commerce market is going to be colossal once the comfort level of people equals that of the conventional way to shop online.  Earlier this year a Mercedes-Benz was purchased on eBay for $240,000.  How’s that for a level of comfort.

How comfortable are you with mobile commerce?  Leave a comment now and let me know.
