List Building

Starting All Over Again?

This is a question that I get frequently.  What would you do if you were starting all over again from scratch to make money online?

I have answered the starting all over again question many times before but oddly enough the answer can change with time.  After the last couple of years I have tweaked it a bit.

What I mean by that is I have said in the past that I would begin again with list building as my number one focus.  Now I would slightly adapt starting all over again by saying that I would learn list building much faster and better by going to the Warrior Forum.

The Warrior Forum is the biggest Internet Marketing Forum on the net.  There are people there from all walks of life; from the very beginner to the ultra successful.  It is absolutely the best place to rise out of the ashes like a phoenix if you are starting all over again.

The reason that I feel that the Warrior Forum is a great place to get started is for two reasons.  They have what is called a Warrior Special Offer (WSO) and the War Room.

A WSO is where one of the forum members is offering a product for sale at a discounted rate to other members of the forum.  The product must be discounted in order to be offered to Warrior Forum members.

Then you have the War Room.  You have to pay a small fee now of $37 at the time of this post but it is a lifetime fee.  You also have to be a member of the War Room in order to offer a WSO.  In the War Room there are tons of free content that many people pay hundreds or even thousands of dollars for outside of the forum.

You could go with a WSO or some information that you get from the War Room about list building.  List building is the way to go because you are building an asset that will continue to pay you over and over again for a long time to come.

There you have it; if I were starting all over again in Internet Marketing I would focus on learning list building from a highly respected Warrior Forum member by way of a low cost, high value WSO or for free in the War Room.

Advertise on Facebook or Google?

Advertise on Facebook or Google?

In the Internet Marketing field there are many ways to drive traffic to websites.  Ultimately you want to make a conversion of some sort, whether it is to make a sale, get an opt-in or get someone to complete a form.  When you are skilled at driving traffic on the web, you will always be successful.

As I stated above there are many ways to drive traffic but in this post I’m going to focus on two sources of paid traffic methods.  You would probably have to call them the two bookends of the paid traffic world; Facebook and Google.

Both Facebook and Google have paid traffic platforms but they are very different.  On the surface they seem the same but underneath you need to have a different approach when utilizing the two pay per click platforms.

With the older more established Adwords platform you can market more traditionally because people are specifically searching for something and all you have to do is put it in front of them.

When using the newer of the two, the Facebook ad platform, you need to be a bit more strategic.  Driving traffic using social media is a very different animal because people are not searching for anything while on social media sites; they are there to enjoy themselves and to connect.  That is why many times you will see advertisers use interruption marketing tactics in order to get attention to their ads and get clicks.

If you are going to advertise on Google you should get started using their Display Network.  It used to be called the Content Network and it is where you advertise on other websites on the web through Google and not directly through their search engine.  In the Display Network you can get much cheaper clicks (as little as 1 cent) and minimize your risk so that you don’t lose your shirt in the beginning.  Once you are more comfortable then step up to the search platform.

They are both really great for driving traffic and making money.  It is just that your approach must be different.  If I had to give an edge to one over the other, I would give the edge to Facebook.

Facebook allows you to build fan pages, which they are now just calling “pages.”  You can use paid Facebook traffic to build a list of “likes” of your pages.  What this does is connect you to thousands of people that you can put social offers in front of.  Remember that you don’t use traditional marketing tactics on social media.  You use offers that allow you to further socialize and make money in the process.  I know people in the business that is making an unbelievable $50,000 to $100,000 per month using these methods.  The best part about it is that once they have built a sizable list on their Facebook page they don’t have to pay anymore; they just socialize with them and grow virally.  How crazy is that?  Getting paid handsomely for having fun…

List Building Trick

Today I’m going to go over a little list building trick that I learned a bit ago.  I wish that I would have implemented it when I first started out but hindsight is always 20/20.

The first thing that you need to do for this list building trick to work is a good 10 to 20 page PDF report filled with some good information on a topic within your niche.

Next you will need a way to give it away but this might be difficult if you don’t already have a list to send it to, which is the whole reason that you want to learn about this list building trick.

What you need is a joint venture (JV) partner that does have a list and is willing to send an email blast out for you.  But why would someone with a list send out your report to his/her list?  Ah-ha, therein lies the list building trick!

You want to give the JV an incentive to mail for you but if you are just starting out and don’t already have statistics on a great converting product they probably won’t.

The list building trick is this: Make an agreement with the JV that he/she will get 100% of the product sales and price it at about $7.  $7 products generally sell very well and that will take care of the incentive part of why the JV will mail for you.

So if you haven’t figured it out by now the list building trick is that the JV will get all of the money and you will get all of the opt-ins.  These opt-ins are far more valuable than leads because they are all buyers!

A list building trick like this is worth its weight in gold because everyone knows that it is much easier to market to customers that have already bought from you than to a lead that just opted-in to get something for free.

Your next question is probably about how to find potential JV partners in your niche in order to get started implementing this list building trick?

It’s easier than you think!  Just go to Blogs.com/TopTen and you will find tons of them.  Send them an email with your proposal and make some new connections.  Remember, with this list building trick it is about volume; so don’t get discouraged if you get rejections or no response at all.  With this method it is a numbers game.

I hope that you enjoyed this list building trick.  Be sure to leave a comment.
