The World of Internet Marketing

A Hundred Failures and Consequences?

Awhile ago I wrote a post entitled “Only 1 Failure Away From Success” and this post is a follow-up to that post.  The reason is because I received a private message from one of my readers about how that post really hit home for him.

A little bit of a back story on my reader is that he lost his job (I know, shocker right?) and got really discouraged that he couldn’t find another one or even two that would replace his income.  He really wanted to give up but he couldn’t because of a wife and three kids.

Things were really getting bad financially when he decided to try and make money online.  What little time that he had to work on his online business really put even more stress on his home life because his wife was really upset when she realized that he was using money marked for bills to market with.

Of course this made things much worse because his wife told him that she was going to leave with the kids if he didn’t get his act together.  His response was that marketing online is getting his act together for a much better future and that he was not going to fail.

Well months went by and still no success.  He was still not willing to give up!  Unfortunately his wife wasn’t bluffing and left him about a month later.  Though he was devastated, he still wasn’t ready to give up.  This guy has determination beyond your average person because he finally had success about four months after his wife left him and took their kids.

Fast forward to now and he is single with a new girlfriend.  He took his kids to Disney World for the first time because he now makes more than double what he made on his highest paying J.O.B. (Just Over Broke).

He said that he failed more times than he can remember but he felt that he couldn’t stop for all of the reasons that people wanted him to.  Their reasons were exactly why he pushed himself even harder.  The biggest thing that family and friends kept saying was to get a job for security but in his mind that meant that he needed to control his own destiny because an employer can let you go at any time…

My opinion on this is that ultimately you must follow your own heart because only you can make you happy.  I say fail but fail responsibly.  But one thing is for sure, you will never know until you give it every thing you’ve got and then try once more.
