Careful What You Wish For…

It is now 2011 and I’m sure that many of you reading this have made a New Year’s Resolution.  Well I say make sure that you are detailed in your wish because the universe is like a dyslexic mischievous stepchild.

What do I mean; yeah I hear what you are thinking.  I know just about everyone has seen, read or heard of The Secret.  If you are one of the ones that have tried it for yourself and failed, you probably think that it doesn’t work.

Well this is where that dyslexic stepchild comes in.  You must be very clear on what you want and never give that child a chance to muck it up!  I believe that child is really a genie that gets joy out of messing with you.

So be clear on what you want and don’t even mention what you don’t want.  That is very important because if you say something like, “I don’t want anymore bills” that child will say, “more bills” and give you more damn bills!

Always concentrate on the positive version of what you want and not the negative of what you don’t want because the universe is always listening.  If you want to pay off all of your bills say, “I have an over abundance of money that comes to me on a continual basis” and don’t even mention the bills part.

The next part is very hard and that is to put yourself in the position to receive.  Why is this so hard?  It’s hard because most people have a difficult time jumping on a good opportunity when it presents itself.

You can’t just plop down on the couch and have money fly out of the television at you.  When a good opportunity presents itself, you have to take action and do it fast.  Money loves speed!

Don’t be too hard on yourself if you can’t switch over to thinking this way right away because our society has programmed us to think in the negative.  But now that you know the right way, with practice you can do it.

Remember to be careful what you wish for and most importantly, how you wish for it…

Amazon SEO?

If you’ve ever wondered if it is worth it to do Amazon SEO in order to sell physical products, I would have to say “yes” after finding out how much they sell everyday!

Did you know that Amazon.com sells over 68 million dollars per day and that was in 2009.  I haven’t seen the figures for 2010 yet and who knows what it will be in 2011.

So doing Amazon SEO makes sense, literally.  They also sell digital products but there is much less competition with physical products.

Using Amazon SEO is a breeze if you target product names and funnel people through blogs using articles.

The reason marketing physical products is much easier is because of the sheer volume.  Clickbank has about 10,000 digital products for sale, but one day I was watching a webinar and it showed how Amazon has over 11 million items for sale in their Home & Garden Department alone!  Now that’s what I call some Amazon SEO opportunities.

From this point all you have to do to use Amazon SEO is to create a free blog on Blogger.com.  Then use targeted product name keywords in articles on high PR sites like EzineArticles.com, which will drive traffic to your blogs that contain your affiliate links.

A lot of people want to market digital products because with physical products the commissions are much lower (a maximum of 15% commission for Amazon products).  With Clickbank you get 50% or more but with that comes more competition.  Remember that Clickbank only has about 10,000 products compared to the millions at Amazon!

If you are looking to become an affiliate and want less competition, I’d say go with Amazon SEO to begin with because that huge pie is spread between much less people as apposed to Clickbank.

Is Amazon SEO for you?  Let me know by leaving a comment.

Google Places Directory

Will the Google Places Directory replace the Yellow Pages?

If Google has anything to say about it, “yes.”  Don’t worry if your only way of getting business is the Yellow Pages.  You still have a little while to still get business this way before the Google Places Directory kills that fat yellow book.

It’s a fact that over 90% of people do their research online before making an important purchase at a local business.  That means that more and more people are using the yellow pages less and less.  After all, if you just did your research online you are more than likely to search the Google Places Directory to look up the place where you are going to buy.

But maybe I have just jumped ahead a bit.  Some of you reading this might be saying, “I don’t even know where the Google Places Directory is?”  Recently Google just implemented Google Places within their search engine.  Whenever you localize your search by putting in a specific city or area you will get listings that are pulled from local business databases, whether the businesses have registered with Google or not.

Below is an example of what the Google Places Directory looks like.

Google Places Directory Example

The information within the Google Places Directory is the same type of information that you would find in the telephone books.

On a side note: The Yellow Pages knows this and is trying to get you over to their site by advertising in Google’s paid listings.  Just take a look at the ad in the lower right-hand corner of the picture above.  Many telephone books have been closing up shop in the last few years due to the Internet.

So what do you think?  Will the Google Places Directory further cause the death of conventional Yellow Pages?  Leave a comment and let me know.

Direct Mail Marketing

Today a lot of online marketers believe that direct mail marketing is old school.  Direct mail marketing is still alive and well.  Just take a look at a lot of the big time Internet Marketers that are beginning to send out correspondence through the mail.

My personal favorite way to use direct mail marketing is via postcards.  Postcards are easy to create, you don’t have to have very much information on them in order to get people’s attention and they are the cheapest to send.

Now you are probably thinking, “How am I going to make a living sending out postcards?”  I’ll answer that with another question; “Can you live on $20,000 per month?”  If your answer is “yes” than postcards can work for you in a direct mail marketing campaign.

$20,000 per month might sound like a lot of money but trust me, it is nothing in the direct mail marketing world.  I know people that make that much in a week and that is still small potatoes.

It all really comes down to wrapping your head around that it all comes down to your believe system about money.  People don’t understand that it really is about a sound system, testing, numbers, rinse, repeat and build on what works.

An easy way to look into direct mail marketing is to go to a site called NextMark.com.  There you will find an array of mailing list owners that you can mail to based on just about anything that you can think of.

The #1 tip that I can give you about direct mail marketing of any kind is to only buy buyers lists!  It is a very simple direct mail marketing tip but it’s essential to your success because buyers are fifteen times more likely to buy the same type of product than someone who is just interested.  Truly a tip to live by…

Leave a comment and let me know what you think about direct mail marketing.

Royalty Free Graphics

If you need royalty free graphics, here is a way that you can get pictures that you can use for commercial use at no cost!

The way that you can do this is not some incredible secret but you will be in the know after reading this post.

All you have to do is go to Google like in the picture below and click on “Images.”

Clicking on “Images” will bring up the Google Images search page, which is the first step in getting to royalty free graphics but there are still a few things that must be done.

As in the next picture below you must put in a search term.  I put in Hawaii as an example.

Now the next thing that you will see in our search for royalty free graphics and pictures is the search results page.  Click on the “Advanced Search” words and it will take you to the next step.

We could have done this earlier but I wanted to show you the difference between the regular pictures and the ones that you will see after you change the parameters to get our royalty free graphics.

In the next picture below, all you have to do is change the usage rights to “labeled for commercial reuse” and then click the “Google Search” button.

The final step is to select the image that you want to use, like in the picture below, and you are done!  These are royalty free graphics that you can use commercially.

Leave a comment and let me know how you liked this tutorial on how to find royalty free graphics.
