I am often asked what the best SEO ranking factors are.
You will hear the debate go back and forth between on-page optimization and off-page optimization (backlinking) as being the most important of the best SEO ranking factors.
Today I am going to throw my hat in the ring and say that if you are going to choose between the two, choose on-page optimization.
Why? Because when it comes to the #1 search engine, Google, they are all about relevancy. You can have 1,000 backlinks to a site but still not be able to out rank a site that only has 100 backlinks with excellent on-page optimization.
So here are some of the best SEO ranking factors for on-page optimization.
1. Keyword rich domain name (target keyword should always be first)
2. Properly structured URL (URL should have words in them, not numbers)
3. Keyword rich title tag
4. Keywords in the H1, H2 and H3 heading tags
5. Proper keyword position (should be in your first and last sentences)
6. Keyword density (should be 2% to 5% per article)
7. Font decoration (bold, italicize and underline your target keyword at least once)
8. Image description (your image alt tag and file should contain your keyword)
9. Content length (more is better and make sure that it is descriptive and relevant)
10. Maintain Good Links (don’t have broken links or ones that link to bad websites)
There you have it! My top ten list for the best SEO ranking factors. If you don’t want to go out there and get a ton of backlinks in order to get a good ranking in the search engines, just make sure that you have really good on-page optimization and you won’t have too.
Please leave me a comment to let me know what you think about my list of the best SEO ranking factors.
I have talked to a lot of people that want to make money online but they just can’t seem to get things going. If this is you, what you might need is a mastermind club.
A mastermind club will help in a number of ways. You enjoy Internet Marketing but let’s face it; most people don’t even know what it is or even think that it is something underhanded.
One thing that a mastermind club will do is put you in touch with likeminded people so that you have others that understand what you are doing. This is ever so important because friends and family can actually hurt you when it comes to something that they don’t understand and many will discourage you. That is not the type of environment that you want to be around if you are going to succeed.
It doesn’t matter what type of dream that you have and want to succeed at, a mastermind club will help get you there faster. The members will help to focus you so that you don’t try to go in too many directions at once, which will only hurt any progress that you might have early on. Trust me, I know about this first hand.
Huge Tip: Be sure to find a mastermind club where you are not the smartest member. This is very important because you want to be constantly learning, growing and evolving. You will never get any better if you are the most advanced person in your group, so if you are find another.
Lastly, here is a great resource for finding a good mastermind club: Meetup.com
There you will find a ton of groups in your local area that meet and have discussions about all types of topics. Just go there and do a search and see what kind of mastermind club you can find.
Did you try Meetup.com? Let me know in the comments.
If you want to stop procrastinating now, here are some things that I do to get me going again.
Don’t do a lot of multitasking. When the mind is scattered and divided between too many tasks it drains you and you will want to avoid things that you really need to do because you will think that it will take the longest.
Also, you can stop procrastinating now by tackling the thing that you want to do the least first. When you complete the task that you hate or don’t want to do right out of the gate, you will feel like its smooth sailing after that.
No excuses! If you’re going to stop procrastinating now you can’t give yourself any excuse as to why you can’t do something. One excuse begets another and on and on it will go…
Finally, focus on how you will feel after the task is complete. You will find that you can stop procrastinating now and in the future if you practice this technique over and over again.
Will you be able to stop procrastinating now that you have a few ways that work? Let me know in the comments section.
That’s right; you must connect with customers before you try to sell them something Twitter Nation!
This is a post that is long overdue. Twitter is changing and not only growing but becoming a true social network. For some reason people on Twitter think that it is okay to just blast sales messages at you all day everyday.
No, no, no… If you walked into a house party and instead of someone handing you a beer they said; “Hey, buy my stuff!” The first thing you would probably do is say “no” and then proceed to avoid that person for the rest of the night.
On the other side of the above scenario; let’s say you walked into a party and a person was having a frustrating problem with their mobile phone. Before they get to the point of wanting to slam it down on the floor you stop them and say, “Let me have a look at that.” You fix it and the person is so happy that he introduces himself to you. This is still not the time to tell him what you do, you just introduce yourself.
If you want to connect with customers using social media you have to begin the conversation by asking about them first. You help them first whenever possible and then ask about how they are doing. Then what they do and then, if they ask, tell them what you do. In the second scenario you might sell mobile phones for a living and really know your stuff about the latest models and could suggest the best new phone for that frustrated person.
The object here is to connect with customers not scare them off. You must be genuine and not just be out to make a buck. To paraphrase Zig Ziggler’s old quote, you’ll get what you want if you help enough people get what they want…
Are you any good when it comes time to connect with customers? Leave a comment in the comment box. Happy Holidays!
Without syndicated content your promotion efforts will most likely die a miserable and excruciating death! If I have anything to do with it you will be just fine after reading this short post.
I’m going to give you a brief way to use syndicated content to boost your website traffic, leads and ultimately more money in your bank account.
Not only do you need to get your content distributed to many different places all over the web, syndicated content also needs to be in different forms. This is important because search engines, especially Google, look at the website links that point to your website to determine what type of link it is and the PR ranking of the site that it is coming from.
Google likes seeing a very diverse amount of syndicated content because it seems more natural and organic. So the best way to do this is to publish your content in many different places.
Your syndicated content should be distributed by creating unique articles and then reproducing them in different formats so that the same articles can be found on different sites in different media forms.
First you write an article and submit it to the various article directories. Then you rewrite that article and turn it into a PDF and submit it to websites that accept PDF documents. PDF documents are crawled by the search engines because they are readable web content.
Next you turn your article into a video and submit it to video sharing sites. After that you extract the audio from the video and submit the mp3 to podcast websites.
Once you’ve done this you now have diverse syndicated content all over the web, which in turn gives you a wide variety of backlinks coming from high ranking PR websites. Google and the other search engines will love you for it!
