Brain Thermostat?

Did you know that your brain has a thermostat when it comes to money?  I heard that term from John Assaraf and it reminded me of T. Harv Eker’s teachings about a person’s money blueprint.

Don’t worry, I’m not going to get all philosophical on you in this short post but I feel passionate about this topic and need to drive one point home.  You will absolutely NOT reach any goal that you set for yourself if your subconscious (implicit thoughts) doesn’t really commit and believe that it is possible.

In this case your brain thermostat will work just like the one that heats and cools your home.  If you only believe that you can make $30,000 a year max, than that is all you’ll ever make!  On the other hand if you believe that you can make millions per year with no limits in sight, the sky really is the limit for you.

Only about 2 % of people on the planet earn what is considered to be wealth and that is only because they think different!  Most are not making a ton of money because they are really smart or was raised with a silver spoon in their mouths; It is that they don’t have the same limiting believes.

So what is your brain thermostat set on?  Leave a comment and let me know.

Backlink Checker Tool

Everything in the Internet Marketing world seems to come full circle and the thing that online marketers are starting to talk about again is backlinking.  New products are springing up left and right.

What is a backlink for those of you that don’t know?  In actuality it is a one-way link from another website to your website.  It is one of the major contributing factors that search engines take into account when ranking/scoring your website’s relevance to any given topic.

When say, “Google” crawls your website with their internet spiders to find out what it’s about, they are also looking to see how many other websites are linking to you from their websites.  Not only do they look for any website links but how relevant the linking website’s content is to your website but how high a page rank (PR) that site has, which in turn helps the PR of your website.

Without getting too deep in this short post, a lot of websites linking to your website is good but websites with a high PR (scored 0-10) is much better.  After a lot of research by a lot of really good Search Engine Optimization (SEO) experts they have estimated that 555 PR 1 backlinks is equivalent to only 1 PR 5 backlink!

Now knowing that this is the case, you would think that you should go out and only get high PR backlinks right?  No!  Your link building campaign should always look natural to the search engines and that includes getting all different types and levels of links.

One good way to do this is to find your competitors and find out where their backlinks are coming from.  A good way to do this is with a good backlink checker tool.  I like Backlink Watch.  It is free and is web based.  All you have to do is put in a website URL and it will tell you where that website’s links are coming from.  Great right?

Microsoft Helps The Dark Side?

A short while ago a couple of my websites were attacked!  Now this sounds much worse than it was but it did do some damage temporarily.

You are probably thinking that the attack consisted of a hack of some sort but this isn’t the case.  This attack was different because the culprit used the assistance of the mega-giant Microsoft Corporation to assist his or her efforts.

Have you ever seen the screenshot below?

It is when someone, anyone for that matter, submits your website to Microsoft through the Internet Explorer web browser as being a threat to computers.  As soon as Microsoft receives this accusation, their system flags your website without even confirming that the information is in fact true!

What this does is scare people away from your website who are using Internet Explorer and when Google comes for a visit, BAM, you just lost some hard earned rankings because you look like a scammer.

There is a remedy.  You have to contact Microsoft by clicking on the “More information” link that you see at the bottom of my first screenshot.  Next you will see a page where you select that you believe the site is safe or select if you are the owner of the website.

If you are the owner of the website, you will have to fill out the information contained in the screenshot below.

Now Microsoft says that it will only take about two business days to process your information so that a human reviewer will take a look at your site to determine if your site is actually a threat, but it is really more like one to two weeks.

In the meantime, you are losing rankings and oh yeah MONEY!  I was really pissed off when I wrote into Microsoft because they should at least notify you that you are being accused of phishing but if you don’t check your website on a regular basis then you won’t know the exact time that the warning has been placed on your site, which hurts you even more.

Hey Microsoft, how about checking the site first before automatically placing a warning on some unsuspecting Joe’s website!

So the moral of this story is to check your website/blog on a regular basis to make sure that someone didn’t use this underhanded technique on you because Microsoft doesn’t care if they destroy the hard work that it takes to get a site ranked in the search engines.  I thought that in this country that you are innocent until proven guilty.  I guess not when it comes to the Internet…

As always, leave me a comment and let me know what you think.

Is There A Simple Way To Make Money Online?

Making money online is the Holy Grail that, according to Google, has over 800,000 searches every month and growing.  In actuality there are so many ways of making money in the online world from article marketing to CPV.  I would just like to briefly touch on online marketing as a whole in this short post and only one simple way that I’ve found to make money online.

The simplest way that I’ve found that is a complete sustainable business that has no foreseeable end in sight is domaining.  What is domaining you ask?  Well it is the buying and selling of domain names.

What makes domaining an excellent business is that it requires no website to make money online.  You don’t need to do the normal search engine optimization techniques to get your site ranked or use expensive PPC marketing to drive traffic in order to make sales.

There are domain experts out there that are quietly making 7 figures without ever having to deal with any kind of staff or outsourcing companies.  You can buy a domain name for as little as a few dollars using coupons.  Even if you pay the full price of about $10.00 it’s still a bargain for a new domain.

If you choose wisely you can turn that $10.00 domain into hundreds, even thousands of dollars.  More advanced techniques include things like turning an already established aged domain that might cost $70.00 into tens of thousands of dollars!

Now this post is not designed to teach you everything about domaining.  It is to make you think about another way to make money online that most people don’t talk about.  So do some investigation on your own and I will get into more specifics in a later post.

What I would like to know is what you think?  Is this a way of making money online that interest you?  Leave a comment and let me know.

Still Marketing Online?

A lot of people want and get into marketing online but fail to ever reach any significant success.  Some quit because they thought that it would be easier than it is.  Others can’t focus and skip from one thing to another.  Even really focused people get lost because they don’t know what to do when they fail.

If you’ve read this blog before you might have seen a previous post where I discussed points on how to stick with it.  But have you ever just thought that it might not be for you?  Now don’t get bent all out of shape!  What I’m saying is that maybe online marketing is not for you but offline marketing might be.

There are offline marketers of all types out there making a killing in the direct mail business.  I know this because that is where I started many years ago.  For example postcard marketing is huge and relatively simple to run.  You can start off with very little money and build it up to a seven figure business with far less hassles than a comparable online business.

I’m not knocking the online world here, it’s just that I learned a long time ago that if you are not good at one thing it doesn’t mean that you won’t be great at something else.  So find experiment and find a business that you love and go out and really make it happen!  There will be bumps long the way but don’t let anything stop you.

As always, be sure and let me know what you think in the comments section.
